Lava Stone Tops

File Under Pop offers tabletop and counter solutions, which are custom-made and crafted from Sicilian lava stone. The volcanic lava stone is extracted from Mount Etna and then cut into pieces, which can measure up to 260 x 180 cm per slab. Depending on each individual space and personal requirements, we offer lava stone tops in either raw lava stone with a matt polished finish or glazed lava stone with a matt or shiny finish.

Lava stone tops are also available with decorations from the File Under Pop tile collections and the entire range of colors from the ‘Pop Solid Color’ collection. Glazed lava stone is a product of nature, recognised by its playful surface, containing small marks and spots, which stem from the process of hand-glazing each surface and firing the lava stone in a kiln at more than 1000 degrees. The marks are considered a beauty of nature and a signature feature of any lava stone surface.

Lava stone is resistant to stains, scratches, shock, and temperature changes. Therefore, all lava stone tops are durable and can stay beautiful over time requiring only a minimum amount of maintenance. Raw lava stone tops need to be sealed upon delivery and treated frequently to stay resistant to everyday use. Glazed lava stone is a low-maintenance surface, which does not require the same level of attention and care.
