Textiles
The File Under Pop textile collection consists of two designs: 'Pinstripe' and 'Note Sheet'. 'Pinstripe' interprets traditional pinstripes in a contemporary way by applying a playful and investigational approach to the spaces between the lines. 'Note Sheet' is inspired by the template used to write down sheet music. An empty sheet of music symbolizes the state of mind just before creative ideas come to life.
Both the linen and merino wool textiles are woven, the patterns are visible on both sides of the textile sheet. File Under Pop textiles are sold as textile sheets with raw, selvage edges on both sides and the top, only the bottom has a finished, folded hem. As the textile is woven, there is no front side or back side. The textile sheet is not a finished curtain, but can be tailored for usage as curtains, beddings, towels, tablecloths etc.
»Our design is based on a creative play with patterns we are familiar with, such as classic pinstripes and sheets of music. They become a symbol of a playful creative process, which links to all our work with surface design and interiors«, - creative director and founder of File Under Pop, Josephine Akvama Hoffmeyer.
Multifunctional textiles
»Our textile sheets are large and multifunctional, which means that leftover textile from for example a curtain can be used as a tablecloth, napkins, hand towels and put to use around the home. We find it meaningful to create connections across the surfaces of a home, it is a way to emphasize the sense of belonging in a space«, says Josephine Akvama Hoffmeyer.
The high quality textile sheets are multifunctional and can be turned into curtains or used to make tablecloths, bedding, towels and much more. The 100% linen textile, produced in Europe, can be widely used around the home - due to its strength, richness and practicality. The 100% merino wool is produced in Portugal, using OEKO-TEX certified colors. The European merino wool is a natural waste product in sheep farming, making it an environmentally conscious material to work with in textile production.

Quality, Production & Care
Our 100% natural linen textile is grown, produced and weaved in Europe. Linen is one of the oldest natural vegetative fibers in the world. Dating back to 5000 years BC, when linen garments were worn in Egypt and used in sacred rituals. Products crafted from linen can be widely used around the home, due to their strength and practicality - they are not worn out quickly, and they absorb humidity, which makes them suitable for use as tablecloths, beddings, towels and bath products. We recommend dry cleaning to avoid the textile from shrinking. The textile can be steamed and ironed.
Our 100% merino wool is sourced from sheep, who have their natural habitat in the Portuguese mountains of Serra da Estrela. The entire process of carding, spinning, dyeing and weaving takes place at a family-owned production site, following traditional craftsmanship that has been passed on for generations. We recommend dry cleaning to avoid the textile from shrinking. The textile can be steamed and ironed. Iron maximum at 150°.
