ABOUT FILE UNDER POP
File Under Pop is driven out of a passion for creative surface design.
From the company's base in Copenhagen, File Under Pop team transforms spaces by equipping surfaces with a universe of colors and tactile textures using clay and lava stone tiles, paint, textiles and bespoke surface design solutions.
File Under Pop Studio is located in the centre of Copenhagen, next to the Marble Church on Frederiksgade 1, 1st floor, 1265 Copenhagen.
Josephine Yaa Akuamoah
Founder and creative director of File Under Pop, Josephine Yaa Akuamoah, has been following creativity for many years. Before launching her first tile company in 2001, she followed music – founding her own band, studying music in New York City and working as a choir singer for renowned artists.
In the year 2000, Josephine Yaa left Denmark to travel out into the world. She moved to Italy, and was soon drawn to the ancient volcano Mount Etna in Sicily - the source of lava stone, which is now turned into delicate File Under Pop tiles. In 2015, she once again decided to throw herself into a creative adventure. This time, to merge solid tiles with delicate paper in the form of hand-painted wallpaper and a curated color universe of exclusive paint. The company was named File Under Pop, giving a nod to her love of music. Since its launch in 2015, File Under Pop has grown into a paint color universe of 100 shades complemented by a collection of textiles, boards and bespoke objects.

COLLECTIONS
File Under Pop Tiles
Our tile collection consists of more than glaze 50 colors, represented in the ‘Pop Solid Color Collection’, as well as a collection of decorated tiles. All colors are available as handcrafted lava stone and clay tiles, and all tiles are available in a ‘Matt’ and a ‘Shiny’ or a ‘Shiny Crystal’ finish. In addition to glazed tiles, we offer raw lava stone and limestone tiles in various formats.
File Under Pop Paint
Our paint collection consists of 100 curated colors, designed to elevate surfaces individually or by combining multiple colors. All our paint is produced in collaboration with Jotun Denmark. The paint is distinguished by its matt finish, while still being washable and long lasting. All colors are available for walls and ceilings, bathrooms, wood and metal as well as wooden floors.
File Under Pop Textiles
Our collections of textile sheets consists of two designs: 'Pinstripe' and 'Note Sheet'. Both based on a creative play with patterns we are familiar with, such as classic pinstripes and sheets of music, which become a symbol of a playful creative process. All our textiles are produced in Europe and woven from 100% natural linen and merino wool.
