At File Under Pop, we have a deep relationship with various forms of art that function as a constant source of inspiration in our work.
The collaboration with Danish artist, Mathias Malling Mortensen, is a continued partnership between Mortensen and our creative director, Josephine Akvama Hoffmeyer. Following a project centered around unique pieces of wall art a few years ago, this new collaboration explores a range of hand glazed lava stone boards with patterns created together with Malling Mortensen using File Under Pop colors. The overall theme for the collection is a playful take on waves
– waves of water, waves of light or waves sound that have merged with the artistic universe that Malling Mortensen is well known for.
All boards are crafted carefully from natural Italian lava stone before each board is glazed by hand at our production site in Valencia in Spain. The result is an entirely unique product showing traces of the individual craftmanship that goes into the production of the boards and highlights the artistic expression.
